Earth Medicine
About me:
I finds plants and their medicine to be intriguing as well as offering a meaningful connection to the earth and what it means to be alive. Many years ago, I was first inspired by the medicinal plants in my backyard, in awe that they not only had the ability to rouse various helpful effects within me when consumed, but that this medicine was also so accessible; I have been inquisitively learning about plant medicine ever since.
I have received certifications from California School of Herbal Studies and Motherland Botanical Sanctuary in Northern California, as well as earning a Master of Science degree in Herbal Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH, formerly Tai Sophia Institute), the nations only school offering a master’s degree in Western herbalism. Following the completion of my masters work, I earned my certification in Nutrition (CNS) from the Certification Board of Nutrition Specialists, one of the most advanced nutrition credentials available in the United States.
I currently am an adjunct faculty at MUIH (online) and practice clinically at West County Health Center. I formerly was part of the core faculty at California School of Herbal Studies. I am the creator and medicine maker of a line of local & seasonal herbal tonics—Earth Medicine. You can find me offering these cherished medicines at the Sebastopol Farmer's Market on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
